Lionhearted: adj.

Constantly challenging one self. Taking every single opportunity without regrets. Learning, developing and seeing beauty in all kinds of moments in life no matter how big/small they may be. Knowing what you're worth, treating yourself like you deserve to be treated. Simply, just being you and being brave. Like a lion you know, fight for what you stand for. A Lionheart would never give up on its dreams.

Where I started

Cheryl Graham, DC, grew up in Southern California but has lived in Santa Cruz since she fell in love with it in 1995. The idea of being nestled between the mysterious ocean and the wise, grounding redwoods in a city full of creative and fun opportunities including art, music, dance, and numerous outdoor activities was something she had to submerge herself with.

Prior to moving to Santa Cruz, she received two B.A. 's from the University of California, Riverside in Human Development with an emphasis in Psychology, and Dance. While growing up, Dr. Cheryl was always very active playing softball from age 7 to 18, and a dancer since the age of 4. As an adult, she has danced professionally in three Modern Dance companies in Los Angeles, Santa Cruz, and San Francisco, as well as with Santa Cruz’s local Heavy Hips Tribal Belly Dance Company. She is a lover of the healing arts as well as the visual arts. For decades now, she has been a visual artist herself and has enjoyed creating jewelry.

Being a Patient

Before becoming a doctor of Chiropractic, Dr. Cheryl worked in the grocery industry for 20 years. Here she endured multiple labor-related physical injuries, which is how she was introduced to the power of Chiropractic. She was intrigued by the non-invasive, gentle treatments, allowing for an amazing level of healing. After being a patient of the Chiropractor that later would become a beloved mentor, Dr. Cheryl was inspired to become a Chiropractor herself.

Becoming a Healer

After studying massage in Santa Cruz at Twin Lakes College of the Healing arts, and being inspired by a particular Chiropractor, Dr. Cheryl decided to attend Chiropractic school at Life Chiropractic College West in Hayward, California. She graduated in 2013 as Valedictorian of her class, receiving clinic honors, and the clinic recognition award. While in school, she realized Chiropractic not only helps physical injuries, it has an emotional and spiritual impact as well.

Today

Dr. Cheryl Graham is excited and motivated to share her knowledge with her patients, assist them in improving their health on a holistic level, and awakening their innate potential to its fullest! She decided to open up “LionHeart Chiropractic'' in 2014 and absolutely loves what she does!

Being in service

Jamaica 2013

The inspiring Dr. Tracey Wright, Globalivity, and Jamaica, will always hold a very special, unique place in my open, expanding heart. The bond created between the small group of Chiropractors and the community of Treasure Beach is strong, runs deep, and will last a lifetime. Dr. Tracey was able to create an experience that affected all aspects of my being. I am caught between being tongue-tied, having no words to properly describe my experience and emotions, and feeling like I have so much to say that I don’t know where to start.

Dr. Tracey orchestrated 7 days of an amazing blend of rewarding, love-filled, Chiropractic service with the local people of Treasure Beach, intermingled with life changing moments of self-care, self-love, self-discovery, group connecting, and loads of fun and laughter.

The warmth and welcoming energy received from the abundantly grateful people of Treasure Beach was more than I expected, and filled my heart and soul with enough love to last forever. The five of us stated we would show up to Jamaica with an open heart and mind, ready to serve, and that is exactly what we all did. Yoga, meditation, intention setting, clarity seeking, ocean swims, boat rides, communal meals, group bonding, dancing, and all of our conversations, allowed for a magically connecting experience between the five of us, as well as within myself. I truly learned the important balance between self-care and service to others.

Globalivity, with its beautifully inspiring guide and mentor Dr. Tracey Wright, is a mission trip I would highly recommend. This is an amazing opportunity to serve, and give the healing gift of Chiropractic, while diving deep into your own heart and soul to find peace, clarity, and motivation for your own evolving path. This opportunity creates life-long bonds with other inspirational Chiropractors. I am eternally grateful for Tracey, Arial, Sura, and Steven for allowing this mission trip to be one of my most precious treasures in my life! They are all true gifts in my life, and I am incredibly thankful for our deep-rooted connections. Share, love, give, and be willing to receive the abundance of life!

One Love, Dr. Cheryl Graham, DC <3
